The game between Wigan Athletic and Arsenal at the JJB Stadium has got a lot of people talking, the state of the pitch, the referee, the result, but the two opinions that cut the most are the managers, Steve Bruce and Arsene Wenger, lets see what they have to say:
Latics boss Steve Bruce
'You need your keeper to play well against Arsenal and he made two great saves. He was drafted into the England squad and you can see why.
"We all know a bad pitch is a leveller,"
"But I`ve got some good players here, too, like Valencia, who wants to run with the ball but finds it impossible. It`s awful. We know it`s awful. The groundsman is doing everything he can. He`s here 15 hours a day, but when we`ve got the rugby league team playing on it as well, there`s nothing much we can do."
'It is going to be tight at the bottom of the Premier League. There are nine teams in it, so let's hope this point is the one that take us clear.'
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger
'We are in a patch where we are not taking enough points, but I believe in these players.
'The focus is good, we will stay calm and we have a very good chance of winning this championship.
'We've dropped two points here, but we gave everything, fought very hard and the poor pitch did the rest.'
I don`t want to take anything away from Wigan`s performance, but, frankly, the pitch is a disaster,"
"It is disrespectful to the fans who come and pay money for that. We have to prepare mentally and physically for the pitch. We did what we could and we gave absolutely everything, but we`re going through a patch at the moment where I feel we are a bit unlucky.'
Hmmm who'd have thought, Arsenal dont win and Wenger blames the pitch, the ref and any thing else that comes to mind
Nice one Arsene
