The voters on the last poll on Vital Wigan opted for an away win for Arsenal at the Latics and judging by some of the comments that were left on the message board most were confident of an easy victory

How wrong they were

The Latics got to grips with the Gunners and gave them as good as they got and could quite well have snatched the win at the end

Chris Kirkland pulled off a couple of cracking saves and in midfield Michael Brown never stopped from start to finish, Mario was his usual classy self and the defensive pairing of Boyce and Scharner had a top game, so who was - 'Latics man of the match in the Arsenal game?`

It had to be Valencia - definitely the best player on that pitch. Gone from strength to strength since the Copa America. Palacios wasn't bad either.
