Super Lee still a Latic

Glasgow Rangers striker and ex Wigan Athletic man Lee McCulloch has told the Wigan Evening Post that he is still a Latics mon.

Lee told the paper:

"I want Wigan to take the three points on Saturday. It's a massive game for both clubs. Things look very tight down there at the bottom end of the table.

'I've kept a close eye on how Wigan have done since I left and I'm still in touch with a lot of the boys"

McCulloch has been managed by Birmingham manager Alex McLeish on two occasions, McLeish was McCullochs international boss for a while and he also managed the big Scot when he first started out in management at Motherwell .

"I know Alex McLeish very well, I was an apprentice at Motherwell under him and he gave me my debut. He's a fantastic manager and he's also a very good mate of mine.

'But I wouldn't be surprised if they both stay up. They both have strong squads and Bolton are quite a way behind them now.

'Wigan need to avoid the tight finish they experienced last year that last day at Sheffield United was something else.

'I do think Wigan will be all right in the end, but the home form is going to be important. I've seen them on TV quite a few times. Wilson Palacios looks a good player and Antonio Valencia seems to have been playing well."

We could do with a bit of Lee`s grit for the next few games and its nice to know that he is still a Latic
