The Perfect Day - Ryan Taylor

Wigan Athletic goal scoring Ryan Taylor hero claimed it was the perfect day after knocking in both goals in Latics 2-0 win over Birmingham City today at the JJB.

Taylor said that it was important to get the points to ensure safety and to stop any recurrence of last seasons last day dramatics with Latics set to face Manchester United in the final game this time round.

The young full back said he was pleased to score with his left foot after being noted for the quality of his right but the three points were the most important thing today.

"It wasn`t nice and it wasn`t pretty but we`ve got there and that`s all that matters at this stage of the season"

"Last seasons experience has helped and this shows with the result"

Taylor also went on to say he was happy to score after missing that penalty at Portsmouth last weekend

"But I`m pleased to score today and the goals make up for last weeks penalty miss and rebound miss"

Nice one Ryan and well played today
