'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tricky Taylor

Wigan Athletic`s Ryan Taylor notched up the highest score of the week for a defender and was also the biggest mover in this week`s Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League.

Taylor scored twice as the Latics took their biggest step yet towards survival as they beat fellow strugglers Birmingham 2-0 at the JJB Stadium.

The 23-year-old notched 57 points - his best score of the season - to move 81 places to 238th with 144 points in the Index. He was also named in the Team of the Week.

Wigan have two players in the top 100 with goalkeeper Chris Kirkland sitting 65th with 312 points and defender Paul Scharner in 99th with 272 points.

Analysis of all Premiership games is taking place throughout the season and the players in the Actim Index Team of the Week are:

Name Team Position Weekly Score

Tim Howard, Everton, Goalkeeper, 22

Ryan Taylor, Wigan Athletic, Defender, 57

Danny Collins, Sunderland, Defender, 32
