Wigan Athletic Wheres Titus Bramble?

Wigan Athletic defender Titus Bramble has not played for the first team for the past nine games and he didn`t make the squad for the last two and not a word on where or how he is.

Bramble started life off well at the Latics following his free transfer from Newcastle last May and by early January he was red hot favourite for fans player of the season, so whats gone wrong?

When asked about Bramble Latics boss Steve Bruce said:

'He still has a part to play'

So Steve why wasn`t he in the squad for the Pompey trip and last weeks win against Birminham?

'He picked up a groin injury before the Portsmouth game, which was unfortunate for him.

'He has trained for the last five days and of course there is a future for Titus. I just felt at the time he needed to come away from it and refocus."

Refocus? Has Bramble been unhappy Steve with being left out?

"The hardest job here is keeping those players not in the team happy."

'I think they are intelligent enough, thankfully, to realise we have to have a squad if we are to be decently successful."

So there been no fall outs then?

'In the past, players were constantly knocking on the door. If the club wants to go where it wants, it has to have a squad, especially with the transfer window being the way it is."

Not answered my question there Steve, very diplomatic, does Bramble still want a future at Wigan Athletic?

'Titus Bramble is one of four centre-backs I have and he is champing at the bit to get a game.'

So Titus is still very much part of the Latics squad and he`s had an injury mmm okay.

I think Bramble should be part of the future of the club, he was superb when he played and only made a handful of errors which, because he is Titus Bramble, were highlighted

Bramble would be a quality defender if he could concentrate for 90 minutes. He tends to just have patches were he loses it.

Video Highlights - Wigan Athletic 0 Nottingham Forest 0

The action(?) from yesterday's game at the DW Stadium between Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest which ended goalless:

Report - Latics 0 Forest 0 - What A Shocker

Thirteen games to save our Championship status, first up a home game against Nottingham Forest who are on a shocking run of form, conceded 10 goals in their last three matches, three of their first choice defenders missing through injury, they had lost 11 of their 16 away games this season with a -16 goal difference on the road and sat just six points above us in the table, surely a game that we would set out to win.

Checking the team selection I felt slightly optimistic but slightly conf
