Robs Prediction Latics Chelsea

Robs Prediction Latics Chelsea

Wigan Athletic travel to Stamford Bridge in their next league game and here Vital Wigans answer to Mystic Meg, Robin tries to look into the future and give us a prediction

Chelsea entertain Wigan at Stamford Bridge in what really is a must win game for the blues and also a game in which Wigan could do with taking something from to strengthen their ambition to stay in the English Premier League

Though with the way Bolton are playing as well as the other two in the relegation zone, you have to fancy Wigan to stay in the English Premier League this tier and I for one think they deserve to.

However, with Bolton having a home game this weekend against West Ham which for me is their make or break game, its not an ideal scenario for Wigan, but the good news is that we can go to Stamford Bridge and then focus on two important home games and the one for me which will be of utter significance is the game against Reading

A must-win game for the Latics to ensure Premier League Survival but you don't go and just throw a record like Wigan have away overnight.

No, I'm afraid Bolton have seen their last action in the Premier League for the time being.

Chelsea, though, will come into the game looking for the win and I fancy them to take all three points here.

Their home form is nothing short of magnificent and I think this is a day where Wigan will not want to play Chelsea as they will be rampant and wanting those three points desperately to keep on track with Manchester United.

That said, Wigan don't have a bad record against Chelsea in past meetings. Its just Wigan can't beat Chelsea even though they do score goals against them so maybe today's the day that record gets changed but with the current situation in the table, I can't see Wigan leaving Stamford Bridge with a point or a victory unfortunately.

Wigan will go there however, play their game, leave with nothing less than honorable pride and focus on their next home fixture to Tottenham.

No, as much as it pains me to say this, this is nothing more than a day out on the town for Latics. However, they're in no immediate danger so they'll go there with confidence in the hope they can take something and even if Bolton won, there's still a lot of work to be done for them and I don't think they can do it.

Therefore, Wigan will go to Stamford Bridge and whatever will be will be. Then they will move on and try to claim points against Tottenham and Reading, which for me are two games which Wigan must try to win though picking up points from either of these games will be massive.

ROB'S PREDICTION: CHELSEA 3 WIGAN 1

Wigan do score against Chelsea but I think this will be Chelsea's day as they will edge closer to Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title.

Not very optimistic for the Latics Rob, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one and say 1-1
