Bent to Stay at Wigan Permanently

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce is to sign Charlton Athletic loanee Marcus Bent to a permanent deal come the end of the season so long as the club stay in the Premier League.

Bent is Latics leading goal scorer so far this season with 7 league goals to his name though he hasn`t scored for the Latics since his goal in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage on December 22nd

Talking about Bents position and permanent deal Bruce told Sky Sports:

'It's something we have in place, something triggered to us staying in the Premier League,'

'We have had preliminary talks with him and his agent, and the one thing we are looking at if we stay up is that this summer we will have another conversation.'

With the signing of Marlon King from Watford in the January transfer window many thought it was the end for Bent at the Latics, apparently not.
