Optimism as Latics plan for Chelsea

Wigan Athletic go into Mondays game at Stamford Bridge against title contenders Chelsea with high ups of getting something out of the game.

This season the Latics have broken their hoodoo of never getting anything from the Premier Leagues top four with draws against both Arsenal and Chelsea.

Wigan defender Paul Scharner says that Latics have a game plan and that there is confidence in the camp that a result can be obtained:

'We go to Chelsea now with a lot of confidence.

"But when we go there we will need to change our shape."

'We press higher when we play at home and we've got to do that away. We can't sit back against them. "

'We've got results against Liverpool and Arsenal under Steve Bruce so why can't we go to Chelsea and get something?

With Scharner commanding the back line Latics do have a chance of getting something from Chelsea who at the moment regardless of their success this season appear to be a club in turmoil.
