Latics Chelsea 'What the Bosses Say`

In what is a big game for both Wigan Athletic and Chelsea tonight, Vital Wigan look at what Steve Bruce and Avram Grant are saying in the run up to the match:

Latics boss Steve Bruce:

'We have to try and be a little bit positive against Chelsea, make sure we perform and not be afraid of them.

'If you have anything about you, this is the sort of game you should relish whether you are a player or manager.

'To play against a club who are among the best in Europe is a challenge to enjoy. We did okay against Liverpool and Arsenal...can we do the same against Chelsea?

'There's still work to do if we are to make ourselves safe.

Bruce On opposing manager Avram Grant:

'For all the unfair criticism he's got, Chelsea are still in the title race and in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

'I think Avram has done extremely well, he's managed it with a bit of dignity and it was never going to be easy following Mourinho.

'They aren't doing that badly are they?

'Chelsea are a quality team with the pace and power they have, while they have goals coming from all over the place."

Chelsea boss Avram Grant:

'I believe that nobody is a computer. Pressure can affect anybody.

'It can take you forward in a positive way, but also you can see that even big players under pressure cannot play like they used to. It can be any team, any player.

'If we win every game I think we will win the title, but it's not easy to win all the games. I said a week ago I didn't believe Manchester United and Arsenal would do it, it's not easy.

'I can't say we are the best in England, but I don't think there is a team stronger than us.

'The atmosphere is good and we come to the last stage of the season with a very good opportunity to do the best things - we don't want to miss it.'

Well that`s what the bosses think and as time ticks away towards kick off time stay with us at Vital Wigan for up dates on team news ahead of the clash of the day
