Palacios, Valencia, Scharner to go!

There are rumours flying around the newspapers and news sites today about the possibility of players leaving Wigan Athletic this summer and heading for pastures new, well lets take a look at some of these.

Wilson Palacios and Antonio Valencia off to Manchester United?

How many midfield players do United want, cant see this one being true and if it is cant see it coming off, the Evening Post report that Man U are planning an £8 million bid for both players with the deal broken down as £5 mil for Valencia and £3 mil for Palacios.

It would take a fee of £8 million for Latics to break even on Valencia with him just signing a permanent 5 year deal in January and Palacios is worth at least double the £3 million that`s been quoted, at these prices this deal is dead before its started.

Vital Deal Rating 3/10

Paul Scharner to Newcastle United?

Now there could be some substance in this rumour that the Manchester Evening News is running, it is well known that the Geordies defence is leakier than the Titanic and Herr Scharner craves the limelight that a 3year contract in the North East would bring.

With Scharner just having one final year remaining on his contract any stalling on renewing on his part might just tempt Steve Bruce to cash in and add some brass to the summer transfer fund.

Vital Deal Rating 7/10

Chris Kirkland to Arsenal?

It was reported a couple of weeks back that Arsene Wenger was preparing a £6 million bid for Chris Kirkland to become part of the Arsenal revolution next season and following the big keepers outstanding display on Monday night at Chelsea you`d think there would be a queue of suitors.

But Chris came out this week and stated that he wanted to repay Latics faith in him and stay at the JJB acknowledging that former boss Paul Jewell took a gamble signing him from Liverpool, a gamble that is paying dividends at the moment

David Cotterill to Sheffield United?

The flying Welshman has been on loan at the Blades since January and it is reported from several sources that United boss Kevin Blackwell would love to make the deal permanent, it is also reported that Latics are willing at £1 million

Vital Deal Rating 8/10

Aghahowa and Olembe to Kayserispor?

A story first broke on Vital Wigan following a tip off from our Turkish contacts that Julius Aghahowa and Salomon Olembe will be allowed to leave in the summer and sign for Turkish Premier Super League club Kayserispor, this story is now circulating in the UK and in the Turkish press, rock solid.

Vital Deal Rating 9/10
