The game between Wigan Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur at the JJB yesterday was a very entertaining affair with both sides attempting to play attacking football, did we expect anything else?
The two bosses, Steve Bruce and Juane Ramos, (and Gus Poyet) appeared to enjoy the game lets see what they have to say about it:
Latics boss Steve Bruce
'Both teams went for it. To be fair to Spurs in the first half that's the best anyone's played against us. Berbatov was excellent'
'We dug in and had an outstanding chance in the second half to swing it our way. It's a good point. People are saying they've got nothing to play for, but they were relaxed. Both sets of players stuck at it.
'Benty's getting stitched up. Emile's got a little hamstring tweak, but we don't think that's too serious'
'We're in a marvellous position, but we're a bit disappointed as Bolton have beaten Boro. It's all in our hands against Reading next week. There's all to play for.'
'We've got ourselves in a position now where if we beat Reading next week we're safe and that's a wonderful position to be in.
'A few months ago we were everybody's whipping boys but we've responded well and given ourselves a chance.
'The point might be enough but we can't take survival for granted.'
Spurs boss Juane Ramos
'We wanted to play at the same lively tempo we started with.
'The condition of the pitch was perhaps less than superb, which inhibited what we were able to do.
'But Wigan are a physically imposing team. They earn and deserve great respect for the performances.'
Spurs assistant boss Gus Poyet
'We've been playing well lately in the first half. I know how many times we've gone in front, but we can't keep clean sheets.
'We have to be quite pleased as it was a good performance. I think it was enjoyable. I didn't expect to be so cold and enjoying football.'
