Tree and Crown return for Wigan

Tree and Crown return for Wigan

Wigan Athletic, according to the Spurs match day programme, are set to unveil a new club crest, which will be released at the end of the current season.

Brenda Spencer, the clubs Chief Executive, wrote in the programme that the club had listened to the comments and opinions of supporters in their quest to develop a crest that is unique to Wigan Athletic.

A slightly darkened image appears opposite the article but it can quite clearly be made out that it is indeed a revertion to the old Tree and Crown of yester year that will be the 'new' Latics badge.

It is appropriate in my opinion that the club does have its own identity and a move away from the Wigan Court of Arms to the Tree and Crown is very much welcome in the worbo household.

Sometimes you need to take a step backwards in order to move forward and it appears that the club are aiming to move forward with a number of initiatives which will hopefully encourage more people down to the JJB on matchdays

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
