Liddell in new Latics deal

Former Wigan Athletic legend Sir Andrew Liddell has signed a new one year deal with League One side Oldham Athletic even though he must be approaching retirement age the Yorkshireman is still wanted and valued

Liddell is still the all time leading goal scorer at the Latics in his time at Springfield Park and then the JJB he made 221 league appearances and managed to pop in 70 league goals and most of these were absolute stunners.

Lidds left for Sheffield United in the close season of 2004, he stayed with the Blades for just one year before moving onto Oldham on a free transfer in June 2005, in 89 league games for the 'other` Latics Lidds has scored 21 goals.
