'If It's Football, It's Vital'

First Cardiff, Then Hollywood!

Wigan Athletic could be the subject of a new film based on the achievements of the last 30 years.

An American film company has reached an agreement with chairman Dave Whelan about making a film about The Latics.

Matt McCann said: 'It reflects the astronomical interest in Wigan Athletic, we have had everyone from Al-Jazeera to movie-makers wanting to film us. Ten years ago, we struggled to get a local reporter covering us and now we are batting away Steven Spielberg!'

The New York-based company is called Bombo Sports & Entertainment and has made documentaries about Manchester United, Roy Keane and the England rugby union team.

Who do you think should play Dave Whelan or Paul Jewell? Leave your comments below.
