Chris Kirkland Man of the Match

The voters on the last poll on Vital Wigan chose Chris Kirkland as their Man of the Match in Wigan Athletics win against Aston Villa last Saturday

Top of his game

Kirkland made four excellent saves in the match to keep Villa at bay, he really is a keeper on top of his game with a string of excellent performances in the past few weeks and he must be destined to be named in goal for Englands next international

There were other notable performances in the game especially Antonio Valencia with his brace of goals which set up the 2-0 win in Latics favour

What the poll asked - Man of Match Vs Villa?

How you voted - Chris Kirkland 60%, Wilson Palacios 20%, Antonio Valencia 6%

Current Poll - Steve Bruce has flown out to Egypt to try and tie up a deal to bring African sensation and Egyptian wonder kid Amr Zaki to the JJB in time for pre-season training.

Zaki is a forward somewhat in the Wayne Rooney role but with an excellent goal scoring record at both club and country level.

With the Latics having had a run in once again with the relegation spots its obvious that we need to strengthen in the summer, but which area, if you had to chose just one, would you concentrate on, for me it would be a goal scorer but have your say in our poll and vote - 'Which area of the team needs strengthening most this summer?`

The poll can be accessed on the right side of this page

Whilst we are talking about voting, there is just over 24 hours left in the player of the season poll, to vote just follow the link below

yup, have to agree with that, kept us out early doors and if he hadn't, I think your players heads would have dropped but he blocked everything that came his way, Carson would have let 2 of the 3 in that Kirkland saved!
