Paul Scharner wants a pay rise

Wigan Athletic defender Paul Scharner is reported has asking for a pay rise in order to become one of the clubs top earners, according to the Daily Mirror

The Austrians demands of £40,000 per week should be seen by the club as the cheaper option rather than trying to replace him, with just one year remaining on his contract it would be foolish to sell now and then try and find a player as inspirational and mad!

Scharner is loved by the fans at the JJB and since his switch back to defence his form has been simply sensational and he is one of the reasons that Latics have been on such fine form of late.

Get him signed up Brenda, £40k isnt that much these days for top class Prem players and we could end up paying a lot more for someone who may need time to settle in

We've lost too many players since we've got into the Prem due to wage demands, Chimbonda, Ellington, Roberts, Bullard to name but a few, get him paid
