Bruce misses Awards to Sign Zaki

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce missed the clubs prestigious player of the season awards and end of season bash to ensure that the signing of Egyptian superstar Amr Zaki went off without a hitch.

Bruce who is over in Egypt, another Vital Wigan exclusive, watched Zaki play for his club Zamelek on Monday and the striker bagged two goals in an impressive performance.

The club need a regular goalscorer that`s for sure and the manager has already identified this position as a priority saying:

"Our top scorer this season is Marcus Bent with seven goals, with three of those coming in one game'

'Then we have players on five and six goals, so that really is an area we really need to improve on for next season.

'I think the most important thing for a club like ours is to get a striker who can make a difference - and that's where I would spend the money if I could source one.'

Zaki to Wigan to be announced any day now

Don’t expect the world from him as its going to take him time to adapt but when he will you will have a star with a lot of potential 15+ goals a year. He fights, scores, and will improve a lot in PL. Only think about grabbing another Egyptian with him. In the high range u have Zidan, Ghaly, Hosni in the lower range u have many. Think he will need some one with him to help adapt.... Wigan just got its self at least one million new fans....
