2 million Reasons for the Latics to beat United
Wigan Athletic go into Sundays game against Manchester United with over £2 million riding on the result
If the Latics manage to beat Manchester United they could climb to 12th in the Premier League and collect a Merit payment of £6.48 million
Whilst a defeat could see the Latics drop down to 15th in the table and therefore only receive a Merit payment of £4.32 million a difference of £2.16 million
Money talks very loudly in football these days especially in the Prem and with a chairman like Dave Whelan who is as tight as the proverbial it is without question that Latics will be trying to win this game with that amount of money at stake.
