Nashing At The Bit For Stoke Return

Goalkeeper Carlo Nash shares his delight at winning promotion with Stoke and admits he'd be a happy man if he got a permanent move to the Britannia Stadium.

'It was fantastic to finish the season getting promotion with Stoke City. It's the third time I've been promoted from the Championship and it seems to get better every time.

'I was there for the last 10 games and we only lost one of those, so that was very rewarding. We drew more than we would have liked, so it was a little touch-and-go right until the end.

'I knew we only needed a draw in the last game to secure promotion so my objective was always to keep a clean sheet. I managed that and it was brilliant when the final whistle went.

'At this moment in time I'm not sure what I'll be doing next season. I still have a year to run on my Wigan contract, but obviously I want to be playing in the number one shirt and not competing for the second keeper's jersey.

'I've enjoyed myself at Stoke and I'd be happy if the move was made permanent, but that is for the clubs to decide. They would need to agree a fee and as we all know anything can happen in football.'
