Bruce - It'll be easy attracting players to Wigan

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce is setting his sights high during the summer transfer frenzy has he attempts to build a side capable of challenging for a European spot next season

In the past former Latics bosses, Paul Jewell for example, cried about the difficulties in attracting top players to the club, no such utterings from Brucie.

He is already planning and players linked are some of the brightest prospects in world football at the moment:

Egyptian super star Amr Zaki, Greek wonder kid Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Hamburg striker Jose Paolo Guerrero to name but three.

Talking to the Wigan Evening Post Bruce said:

'When we've got a DVD in our pocket of us taking on Man United in a full house it's certainly going to help attract players here.'

Exciting times are certainly ahead for Wigan Athletic and it does seem that the club is taking a leap forward to the next level, cant wait for the new season, bring it on.

I'd think they could do with stopping the rugby players going on the pitch, that would make all the players jobs easier wouldn't it? The pitch when you played Villa was a disgrace! Pies were nice though, yin and yang of football! LOL
The Fear
When we played Villa the Rugby season was well finished...they play summer Rugby up here! There is a major problem with the drains and the river at the side of the ground rises up through the pipes and floods the pitch...this is being sorted with new drains in a few weeks

Tell the Rugby club to go forth and multiply!

I think he will do well to bring any players in of great quality. I think its always just going to be about survival.

The pitch was a discrace but its sorted now. I was told when they laid the grass before they just stuck it on top of the other 1, instead of ripping it all out. It was a problem with the river duglous when it rains it does what worbo did Hopefully Bruce will sign bigger and better players COME ON WIGAN
