Wigan Athletic - Amr Zaki Transfer Agreed

Egyptian soccer superstar Amr Zaki has agreed personal terms with Wigan Athletic and with the club agreeing to pay Zaki`s current side, El Zamalek, over £6 million it is expected that the transfer will be tied up and confirmed this week.

Latics boss Steve Bruce missed the end of season Players awards night to go and finalise the transfer and caught Zaki scoring two goals in El Zamaleks game against Aluminium Naq Hammadi

Zaki has scored 22 goals in 44 games for El Zamalek and a very impressive 21 goals in 40 games for Egypt in just three years and at 25 there is a lot more to come from the Egyptian yet.

Two strikers in this week, anyone would think that we struggled to score goals last season.

I'm delighted with that signing (a fellow countryman, that's why). Seriously, he's a good striker. He's strong, fast and never gives up!

contract not signed yet but Mr Benson is expected to fly out and iron out final details for Zaki. Signing of Gierrero not as certian but Eric Blakc was flown over to watch him play. His signing would depend on what our exisiting strikers decide to do

Video Highlights - Wigan Athletic 0 Nottingham Forest 0

The action(?) from yesterday's game at the DW Stadium between Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest which ended goalless:

Report - Latics 0 Forest 0 - What A Shocker

Thirteen games to save our Championship status, first up a home game against Nottingham Forest who are on a shocking run of form, conceded 10 goals in their last three matches, three of their first choice defenders missing through injury, they had lost 11 of their 16 away games this season with a -16 goal difference on the road and sat just six points above us in the table, surely a game that we would set out to win.

Checking the team selection I felt slightly optimistic but slightly conf
