Heskey Interesting Pompey

The Daily Star is reporting that Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is interested in signing Wigan Athletic and England centre forward Emile Heskey

Pompey are set to tempt Liverpool with a bid for their former player Peter Crouch but if that fails Redknapp is said to be interested in trying to get the Latics to part with striker Emile Heskey

With the South Coast side in the Uefa Cup following their Wembley triumph, Heskey will have a chance of playing European football next season if he did make the switch

Heskey is a bit of a talisman for the Latics and even though he had an injury hit season last year he still got a recall to the England squad and put in some excellent performances for the Latics, especially at the beginning and end of the season.

I would same to Heskey if Redknapp came knocking 'don`t be stupid lad, stay here where you are loved`.

Just a bit of press speculation I hope, would like to see Heskey extend his stay at the JJB not shorten it

Four goals all season is bellow satisfactory for a striker I think. If Pompey pay 5 or 6 million I think it would be a good deal.

so will Harry sign Heskey or Crouch - I prefer Heskey!

You could see the confidence flow through him once he got that recall, more power to him.

Heskey has been good for us. He's goals tally this season hasn't been the best but he's been injured for large parts of it
