Zaki scores as Egypt win World Cup Qualifier

Zaki scores as Egypt win World Cup Qualifier

New Wigan Athletic front man Amr Zaki scored for his country today as Egypt beat Congo Dr 2-1 in Cairo in a World Cup 2010 qualifier.

Zaki struck a super right foot volley from the edge of the area to pull the Egyptians level after they had fallen behind to a Congo DR goal against the run of play just before half time.

Zaki`s goal came on 68 minutes and following intense pressure from the Egyptians Ahmed Abdelmalk struck the winner on 80 minutes

Egypt are now joint top of Africa group 12 with Malawi. Congo DR and Djibouti share bottom spot with no points.
