'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wigan Athletic it is Zaki Time

Wigan Athletic should this week be able to announce the signing of Egypt and Zamalek star forward Amr Zaki on a year long loan deal.

In a transfer saga that`s run longer than the Nile, leaked documents suggest that it will be finally ratified by both clubs this week, some of the details of the deal include:

Latics paying £1.5 million for the year long deal

£500,000 if Zaki scores 10 Premier League goals

First option next June to sign Zaki for a pre-agreed £4.5 million

An all expenses paid training camp for Zamalek in Wigan next month

The 25 year old striker is currently on World Cup duty with the Egypt national side though he has been making some noises about cancelling his contract with Zamalek if they try and block his move to the JJB

So we could have a new striker at the club by the end of the week and this could signal the start of a very active few weeks in the transfer market for Steve Bruce
