Wigan Athletic Transfer Rumours

Wigan Athletic Transfer Rumours

A quick flick through the Sunday papers and a browse of the news sites on the internet and it becomes clear that Wigan Athletic are being linked with every player on the planet, lets take a look some of the rumours

Kris Boyd and a £4 million pound bid to Rangers has been rumoured for the Scottish international.

51 goals in 77 appearances for Rangers and 7 in 14 appearances for Scotland is impressive even allowing for Scottish football being weaker than the Premier League, but reports suggest that Boyd isn`t yet the finished article and there are areas of his game that are weak…we`ll hold judgement on this one

Ivan Klasnic the Croatia and Werder Bremen forward was linked with the Latics and we even sent John Benson and Brenda Spencer on a mission to Austria to get him signed on a free.

Unfortunately it now looks like the deal to bring Klasnic to Wigan is off, allegedly problems with insurance due to the Croats medical condition, pity, he looked like a quality player to me.

John Mensah Rennes' Ghana international is reportedly very close to signing for the Latics and this deal could be tied up by the end of the week if the two clubs can agree a fee, Rennes want £7.5 million for the defender Latics are prepared to offer £5 million.

Come on guys, reach a compromise and get him signed.

The Olivier Kapo from Birmingham to Latics deal is back on with a player exchange mooted for the Frenchman, two players talked about going from the JJB to make the transfer happen are Antoine Sibierski and Henri Camara

Camara can go where ever he likes for me, but I`d love us to keep hold of Sib`s, the guy`s quality.

Amr Zaki, the longest running transfer saga in the history of football with more twists than an Agatha Christie novel should be settled this week following the disclosure of a fax sent between both the Latics and Zaki`s Egyptian club Zamalek.

The fax revealed details of the deal and also revealed that both Latics and Zamalek are in agreement…about time

Anybody who can get Kris Boyd for £4 million are getting a great deal on a good goalscorer.
