AJ on his way to Wigan?

AJ on his way to Wigan?

There's little basis for this story but there's a whisper that Andy Johnson could be on his way to Latics.

For me, AJ would be a good signing but the chances of this one coming off are as slim as a pancake. Still, would be good if he did come.

AJ is a really hard worker and has got goals in him and would be a good addition to our squad. He'd be very much like our own Ivanhoe, Emile Heskey.

Unlikely but not impossible.

If we can recoup the inflated price we paid for him, your welcome to him. Couldn't score in a brothel.

I thought during his first season with you lot Mike that he did ok, maybe a change of club would do him a bit of good

He scored 12 goals, in 43 appearances in all comps. It was hardly prolific was it. He was only loved because of his brace against the *****e in the 3-0, and a last minute winner vs Arsenal. He was awful this season though, particularly the first half, gradually improved a little. He'll only score 1 goal every 10 chances. He's just not a very good goal scorer. I guess we've been spoilt by the Yak scoring pretty much every chance, but when AJ is one on one with any keeper in the league, I'd back the keeper.

If you was to keep Heskey I think Heskeys power and pace along with Johnsons pace would be a good strike force.

Would have thought he'd prefer to go South if anywhere

What a signing that would be. If he can find the goalscoring form he had at Crystal Palace, and in his early Everton days, you could have a decent signing - alongside Heskey... pretty good!
