My Latics Fantasy (Nicol467)

Name: Nicol467

Player of the Year will be: Chris Kirkland

Newcomer of the Year: Maynor Figueroa

We will finish: 10 mid table

In the English Premier League: 10th again

In the FA Cup: quarter final

In the Carling Cup: 2nd round(with second team)

This is how I will shape my squad.

Players I will sell (3-4):

Koumas 4m, Valencia 8m, Aghahowa free, Sibierski 500k

Players I will buy:

Bresciano 4m, D Bent 8m, Zaki 1.5m, C Adam, 2m M Kightly 2.5m

My Squad:

Kirkland,Politt,Nash,Edman,Figueroa, boyce, scharned, bramble,Melchiot, taylor,Kightley, Cotterill, Palacios, Brown, Thomas, Bresciano, Adam, Kilbane, Zaki, D Bent, King, Heskey, Mahon

We will be playing:

4-4-2

My Latics team will play:

Attacking football with the ball going down either flank with both Kightly and Adam getting to the by-line as much as possible. Brown would sit in front of the back 4 giving Palacios a free role to get about the park.

My starting XI for the season will be:

Kirkland
Edman
Boyce
Scharner
Melchiot (Captain)
Adam
Palacios
Brown
Bresciano/Kightly
Zaki
D Bent

My Subs:

Pollitt
Bramble
Thomas
Kightly/Bresciano
Heskey

Comment:

Although we would be selling our 2 wide players I feel they were both far too inconsistent last year and did not do as much as they should have that is why I would cash in on them and bring in Kightly, Bresciano and Adam 3 very hard working players with a brilliant final ball to get the ball in the box.

Darren Bent is an excellent scorer and both Bent and Zaki have pace and power and have an eye for goal Heskey would be a brilliant option off the bench when defenders are already wore down.

This team is a little different to what would be expected I feel it is time for a change and that could just happen with Steve Bruce at the helm.

Let me know what you guys think what changes you would make because I know my changes are a bit different.

Come on you Latics.

Kightly! I'd keep Valencia, Kightly is a Championship player but Bent would be a wonderful signing

This is a really great idea for articles, the other Latics might have to borrow your concept of prediction articles, if that's ok?

Video Highlights - Wigan Athletic 0 Nottingham Forest 0

The action(?) from yesterday's game at the DW Stadium between Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest which ended goalless:

Report - Latics 0 Forest 0 - What A Shocker

Thirteen games to save our Championship status, first up a home game against Nottingham Forest who are on a shocking run of form, conceded 10 goals in their last three matches, three of their first choice defenders missing through injury, they had lost 11 of their 16 away games this season with a -16 goal difference on the road and sat just six points above us in the table, surely a game that we would set out to win.

Checking the team selection I felt slightly optimistic but slightly conf
