Wigan planning Toffees swoop

Wigan apparently are in line for an 8m offer for Everton striker Andy Johnson, who seemingly has fallen down the pecking order at Goodison Park although word suggests he is still happy to stay there.

Sunderland FC have put in a 10m bid reportedly for Johnson's services and he has already expressed that moving to the JJB would be difficult from a personal point of view, but knowing Steve Bruce, he'll use all the powers of persuasion to try and get Johnson to come to the JJB Stadium.

Johnson would be a good capture as he has goals in him and like Emile is a good worker and would bring a lot to our team as a whole.

One thing's for sure. Bruce has got firepower in his mind and the capture of Johnson would certainly add goals up front.

What do you make of this potential signing?

Would be a good signing IMO.

If fighting for top half is the limit of your ambitions, Andy will score you 10 a season, maybe 15 if you give him penalties, and actually get more than 1 penalty a season. He has said many a time though, he wants to move back to London...

Think I'm on my own with this one but isn't there something underwhelming about him for 50k a week. Glad to be wrong and watch his goals roll in.

Yes, that would be a great signing. There are two Premiership clubs that I lok out for week in week out. For some reason they are Portsmouth and Wigan, and I would only be delighted if Wigan managed to sign Andy Johnson.
