Paul Konchesky to Wigan?

Paul Konchesky to Wigan?

Paul Konchesky could be on his way to Wigan Athletic as the club are prepared to pay the asking price of 2.5m for the left back.

The question is, would Paul Konchesky be a regular first team starter ahead of Maynor Figueroa, who put in a cracking performance against Manchester United? One can only imagine so and if that's the case, we know we have reliable backup in Maynor.

Apparently Paul Konchesky is unsettled at Fulham as things have not worked out as he would have liked them to and Steve Bruce is ready to take advantage and offer 2.5m to Fulham for Konchesky.

Would be another decent coup for the club.

A decent signing if it came off, IMO

We don't need him, we already have Maynor, as well as Erick Edman. Why spend the money on that when we would need them for much more important signings

I prefer Edman, Figueroa and even Kilbane to this fella, lets forget this one

Edman is going on 30, Figueroa is still young and Konchesky is a proven left back. I think £2.5m may be a bit high especially when we need to strengthen central defence (Mensah and *Shittu would be my choice) + midfield (Tymoshuk, Kapo, Larsson and Thomas) + strikers (Cisse, Cabanas and Zaki). If Bruce thinks the deal is right, i have confidence in him!
