Zaki deal has collapsed

The deal to bring Amr Zaki to the JJB according to reports has now collapsed after Zaki and the Chairman had an argument which resulted in the Bodyguards threatening to beat the striker up.

Now the deal seems to be off and this has had to be one of the longest sagas in the history of trying to sign a player from the point of view of the club.

The only positive that the fans can take from this is that maybe we can sign Salvador Cabanas because if anything, at least this would be a credible signing in light of what has happened with the Zaki signing and would be just as decent a prospect.

I'm sure that the club itself has reached the end of their tether with the Zamalek board, especially the chairman over the incident but the good news is we could get Cabanas and hopefully another striker who will be just as good as Zaki is.

In the end its a real shame for all concerned but at least the saga has come to a halt and Latics and their fans can finally move on from this disappointing revelation.

After all this and this is what it comes down to. I'm sorry, I feel as probably everyone else does, cheated and let down.

We should not be hearing this news. We should be hearing that the Zamalek chairman has been arrested.

I was a Zamalek fan all my life but no more, they suck in every way. They got a dream deal for a player that dose not want to stay at the club; he had a punch-up with his coach, and publicly criticized the team many times Zamilk should be so happy to get rid of him. Now he has a fight with the chairperson who lied like 10 times already and they still want to keep him after all that. If I were Amr, I would play at 10% with Zamlik and they do not deserve even that, and that’s what they will get at best. No wonder they cannot win the Egyptian PL. What kind of example dose it set for young players or what kind of image dose this mess give Egyptian football/society. Guess the only hope will come from FIFA or the FA but seeing that Zamilk are such a big club in Egypt and Ahly happy with the turmoil it all looks bad.

If FIFA terminate the contract, nothing that Zamalek can do about that. FIFA need to act.

I still think the deal will go ahead, it is just a long wait but in the next week or so everything will be sorted whether he is coming here or not. We must now concentrate on signing Cabanas and also Cisse (that would be great), hope the deal is still on for all 3 to be honest.

Would be nice to sign all three but can't see it happening....
robin
pharo, I echo your thought except that I'm not a Zamalek fan.

geez.... this happens now...i really hope we get cabanas instead...although if FIFA terminate his contract, wouldnt we b able to pick him up on a free transfer??
d_manga_fanatic
He'll probably be unvieled tomorrow...I see that Zamalek are officially announcing that Agogo is their player on Thursday
worbo
Ask a silly question again worbo, but are you referring to Cabanas there when you say "he'll be unveiled tomorrow?"
robin
No, a bit tongue in cheek with the Zaki deal...its been going on for so long and he aint signed would be ironic if the day after the deal collapses he does sign!
worbo
If the contract is terminated, nothing to stop him signing then. If they have any sense the FA, they will, especially after the absurd outburst from the Zamalek chairman and the threats of violence. Never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. Once his contract is terminated, which it should be, we could get Zaki still. Things can change in such a short amount of time!

Breaking news: ZAMALEK FC has just signed Ghana's first striker "Agogo", which means that zamalek will sooner or later let Zaki join the latics and i am ssuring everybody that Zaki will be playing for Wigan next season. The problem of Zaki with the chairman will not last long, no need to worry guys. For all Wigan fans.....Wigan will play in the European contests soon. Khaled
