Ryan Taylor make weight in Kapo deal?

Wigan Athletic utility man Ryan Taylor is being reported as a make weight in the deal to bring Olivier Kapo to the JJB from Birmingham City

Undoubtedly talented, Taylor was likened to David Beckham for his dead-ball deliveries only 2 months ago by Latics boss Steve Bruce and now it seems he is willing to let the youngster go.

Taylor joined Latics from Tranmere Rovers for a fee of £750,000 in July 2005 on a four year contract; he is the 2nd longest serving player currently at the club behind Mike Pollitt

Surely Taylor is too good a player and too versatile to let go, being able to play in both defence and midfield effectively and as he has shown, being comfortable equally on the left and the right makes him a valuable asset for the Latics squad

In my opinion Taylor should be offered a new contract not shown the exit door and he is far too talented to be spending time in the Championship

Im a big fan of Ryan Taylor, he has been excellent in his time at the Latics considering the injuries he has suffered and he delivers a wicked dead ball and takes a superb free kick, why would yo give that away?

No way we should let him go. He is good in everything, just remember the 2 goals he scored that won a match.

He has a brilliant right not the fastest player but neither was David Beckham He is Wigan through and through and real fans player. At the end of every game he always gives the fans he's apprication He can also play left or right back and ad both of the the wings. With a very good understanding of the game
