Zaki arrives in Wigan on Tuesday

According to the official Amr Zaki web site the Egyptian superstar is set to arrive in Wigan next Tuesday 15th July to undergo a medical examination prior to his move to Wigan Athletic from Zamalek

It also goes on to state that Zaki will not be playing in the African Champions League tie against Al Ahly next Saturday due to the fact that he hasn`t been involved in preseason training with Zamalek.

It appears that it took Zaki to sign a two year extension to his current contract with Zamalek for the board to agree to his loan move to the JJB.

This move has been a long time coming, first reported on Vital Wigan way back in November 2007 and personally I will not believe it until I see Amr Zaki in a Latics kit at the JJB and after all this effort if it does come off lets hope that its been worthwhile.

Zaki will be a good signing. Playing alongside Heskey, he'll be a deadly striker!

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
