Latics Best Ever Midfield Player

Latics Best Ever Midfield Player

Vital Wigan is currently running the 'Latics Best Ever` series and we are now up to the best ever midfield player to have played for Wigan Athletic and there have been many greats down the years.

My own personal favourite is Roberto Martinez

When Bob came to the Latics he heralded the start of the new era, Martinez was quality in a pretty dire team and I will always remember him for being a gifted footballer but also a humble man.

Martínez spent six seasons at Wigan, making 180 appearances for the club (with a further 47 as substitute), scoring 23 goals.

He was instrumental in the changing of the clubs fortunes and will always be a true LATICS LEGEND

There are other notable players in the poll for you to vote for but I have decided to leave out Wilson Palacios has he hasn`t been at the club long enough in my opinion to be included.

The poll is available for all to vote on and can be found on the right side of this page.

Bullard was awesome but for what he represented the start of the new age at the Latics it has to be Martinez
