Jimmy Bullard Best Ever Wigan Athletic Midfielder

Jimmy Bullard Best Ever Wigan Athletic Midfielder

Jimmy Bullard was voted the best ever Wigan Athletic midfield player by Vital Wigan pollsters.

Jimmy was a character and made an impression the moment he was signed from Peterborough and that impression is still at the club even though he left for Fulham two years ago.

Jimmy`s exuberance was there for all to see, he wanted to take every throw-in, every corner and every free-kick, he was the first one out on the pitch and the last one to leave, if any one loved playing football and loved playing for Wigan Athletic it was Jimmy Bullard.

Jimmy was part of the clubs meteoric rise through the divisions and if he hadn`t have made the Premier League with the Latics then the talented little cockney would have made it somewhere else.

Jimmy won the poll quite comfortably getting 63% of the votes his nearest challenger being Roberto Martinez who took 16% of the vote

Well done Jimmy

Next in the series is looking at the best ever forward to have played for the Latics and this is a hard category to choose from in my opinion with so many excellent forwards and hero`s down the years, see if you can pick out the winner

The poll is available for all to vote on and can be found on the right side of this page.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
