Wigan Athletic Kit Launch - What Happened?

Wigan Athletic today officially launched their new kit as they trail-blazed on the clubs official web site:

"Wigan Athletic, in association with Official Retail Partner JJB Sports, will proudly launch their brand new home kit for 2008/09 season TONIGHT, Tuesday the 15th July.

"To help officially launch the kit members of the first team squad including Wilson Palacios and Antonio Valencia will be present to sign autographs and meet supporters buying the shirt from 6 pm onwards"

So what went wrong?

Why was there no players or club representatives there?

Maybe Wigan Athletic Commercial Director Paul Hunt could contact us to let us know why so many were left disappointed, Vital Wigan know of people who had travelled up from Stoke and Leeds specifically to get their new kits signed by a player as promised on the 'official` web site.

Here is the article on the official site click here

The club seem to have removed the article from their site for some reason?

Any ways you can get the guist of it above

Poor, very poor, why can we never get the commercial side sorted?
worbo
Wow that really poor marketing. So people showed up for nothing?

The word shambles does not begin to describe how bad they are.

Sorry fellas .. your club is a disgrace to it's fans... That's awful especially if young kids hung around waiting to see the players that never attended.. Good luck with getting an official reply
Chix
I wont hold my breath Chix, I contact the club on a regular basis regarding interviews and never get a reply though they send me emails about paying £200 to join a club that allows me to have a pint on match days!

I love Wigan but fair dinkum the club isn't run as a professional one, we know they can't get there contractual situations sorted but fair dinkum to ignore the fans that they cry out so often to support the club and leave them dry like that is a bloody disgrace. Who ever is incharge of PR needs to be sacked!!!!

THe club have taken the artile off their web site! They know they messed up
worbo
Poor!
Adilson
They would of removed the article because they didn't have the pictures to back the day up, fans prefer honesty and whilst they would still be laughed at by some putting up an apology will at least settle the faithfull fans somewhat - if they need a PR manager I'm avaliable!!!
