Wigan Athletic Kapo Signing Rubber Stamped

The signing of Birmingham City player Olivier Kapo by Wigan Athletic now appears to have been concluded following the refusal of Birmingham to release the player from his contract over an unpaid fine.

The Latics official web site state the signing in the article the 'Kapo Fits` though there is no mention of yesterdays hold up it does say that Kapo is joining the squad in Austria for the 10 day training camp.

Latics boss Steve Bruce seems pleased to have got the Frenchman on board and told the clubs site:

"I really wanted to get him on board, he is a real fighter and he has a touch of quality and can play in a number of positions and having worked with him in the past I know he will be a good addition to the squad"

Olivier Kapo is really excited about the direction that Steve Bruce plans to take the Latics and he told the official website:

"It is fantastic to be signing for a club like Wigan, when Steve told me his plans for the next few years I wanted to come"

"Steve is a fantastic manager and this club is going places I really want to be playing for them now"

Well that`s two signed up, who`s next, Amr Zaki anyone?

Well I wonder who paid his fine, if anyone did?

Good signing, now lets get Zaki on board. We're really beginning to sort out our depth issues, aren't we.

A good signing for you. Hopefully, Zaki will come too.

Me to who paid he's fine He should be a good addition I just think its a little bit soft on birminghams part. They wanted 2 weeks wages but why when they where getting a good price for him. Maybe wigan paid the extra price for his fine ontop of what they offered
