Everton turn Down Wigan Johnson bid

According to Sky Sports News Everton have rejected a £9 million bid for striker Andy Johnson from Wigan Athletic

Last week Latics boss Steve Bruce confirmed that he had approached the Goodison Park club over the availability of Johnson and this week he has gone back with a big bid for the player.

If Everton rate Johnson at more than £9 million for a player who scored just 10 goals last season then that`s their prerogative if I was Bruce I`d issue a take it or leave it.

Let Fulham have him, he is a 5 mil player not a peny more. For 9 mil we could have a world class striker and not a flop. Remember how much was Berbatov - 11 mil and the difference between the two. Defoe was a 8 or 9 mill and he makes 20 goals a season as as a reserve. SB should research a bit more, Zaki was a very important signing but who plays along Zaki is even more important.

As long as we get a fairly high profile striker, I'll be happy. Zaki would be a wonderful start....

Looks like Everton don't really want to let him go, I reckon if he leaves West Ham would be his first choice though ;-)

Even if AJ don't sign, plenty of other targets we could go for at the same price and as stated, better quality players. As long as we have quality up front, that's fine by me. Come on Amr, please sign the contract. The tension's going beyond unbearable now....

They want £10m. Seems a lot either way for a very good championship player who keeps falling over.

Pay the £10m!

Stingy b******s! 10m when we offered 9? Almost as bad as Birmingham and the Kapo fine.

Zaki says: "I watch all the Premier League and Championship games and think a loan would be good so I can prove myself. "There is a big difference between English and Egyptian football. The competition and the players are tougher here." So let's make no assumptions.

Zaki is very better than AJ

Wishful thinking?

Zaki is unproven in the prem so hopefully he is not seen as the answer to all our scoring problems. As for Johnson, he's worth £5 million maximum - don't really rate him and actually I find him quite irritating.
