Amr Zaki passes medical at Wigan Athletic

Egyptian web site Yallakora.com are reporting that Amr Zaki has passed his medical at Wigan Athletic today and will fly back to Egypt on Saturday

The Egypt international flew into Manchester airport this morning and was met by Latics club officials and waiting Sky Sports News reporters

Before Zaki was whisked to the JJB for his medical he told Sky Sports News that he wanted to prove himself in England and was looking forward to signing for the Latics.

He told reporters:

'I'm very happy to be here and hope to sign for Wigan. It was difficult for me to come here as my club still wanted me.

'I watch all the Premier League and Championship games and think a loan would be good so I can prove myself.

'There is a big difference between English and Egyptian football. The competition and the players are tougher here.'

It is being reported that Zaki will be off back to Egypt at the weekend and there will be a press conference in Cairo on Monday when Zaki will sign his loan deal with representatives of both Zamalek and Latics present.

When Zaki will join up with the rest of the Latics squad in Austria is yet to be disclosed

Thought the press conference was on Saturday, don't say that's been delayed as well. What a fiasco.
