Andy Johnson - Everton say 'What Bid`?

The official web site of Everton Football Club tonight have released a statement dismissing reports that they have received a £9 million bid for striker Andy Johnson from Wigan Athletic

They also rubbished reports that the bid had been rejected by the Toffees and officials of Everton FC have said that this is definitely not the case.

The club statement reads:

"Everton have dismissed reports that they have received a bid for Andrew Johnson.

Reports this afternoon claimed Wigan Athletic had been in contact with the Toffees and lodged a £9million bid.

The same reports said the bid had been rejected by Everton.

However, officials at the club have clarified that this is not the case.

The former Crystal Palace striker has been the subject of speculation linking him with numerous Premier League rivals this summer.

The likes of Fulham, West Ham, Sunderland and Aston Villa have all been rumoured to be interested in Johnson.

Johnson has been training at Finch Farm this week, ahead of the Toffees' friendly at Cambridge United this weekend."

If we get him we will be lucky to get him for less than 12mil, do think we could get something better suited to the team for less than that however

Yakubo would cost that money and he bangs 20 goals every season, AJ 10. Thats counting the penalties.
