Everton tell Latics 10 million for AJ

Although Everton announced that they hadn`t received any official bid for striker Andy Johnson from Wigan Athletic it is understood that a verbal bid of 9 million was made by the JJB club last week

It is now emanating from Goodison that Everton will do business at 10 million and it is expected that the Latics may raise their bid and make it official as the players other suitors, Fulham, West Ham and Sunderland gear themselves up to bid for Johnson.

Whether he is worth 10 million or not is irrelevant, that is the asking price and if Steve Bruce wants the England man at the JJB this coming season that is the amount that Latics need to pay

Another long winded transfer saga, what happened to the days when it was all done and dusted in a day?

In my opion i dn't think Andy Johnson is worth the 10 million, with 50 k a week He isn't gonna get us 15-20 goals a season
Jonni_G
In my opinion Jonni he aint worth 5 mil I will be surprised if Big Dave sanctions a deal of that much for Johnson
worbo
how much did you buy marlon king for? how much do you pay him a week? and how many goals did he score for you? then ask yourself how many goals andrew johnson scored last season and how many games he missed through injury? then i'll think you'll find he's worth atleast 5 million. I certainly wouldn't pay 10 million for him if i was wigan manager but im afraid that's how much it will take for Moyes to even bat an eyelid and take notice, thats if he actually wants to sell which i highly doubt.

King didn't have a pre season and injured. He also wasn't in the startig line most of the time. Same with king he is a good striker. But i dn't think he will get the amount of games that we need. Andrew Johnson won't get the amount of goals that his wages represent, but you never know

Its not just the goals, its the assists too plus his work rate is second to none. Wouldn't be at all disappointed to land AJ. Perhaps on Monday we'll learn (finally) we've signed Zaki and also made an improved bid for AJ. I can see us making an improved offer for AJ. He's a good player.
