Today's transfer activity round up

Another day in the transfer window brings more deals closer to fruition both in and out at the JJB.

The most promising is the expected signing of Lee Cattermole from Middlesboro.Latics have been given permission to talk to lee following an increase bid of 3.5 million. Whilst no news is expected before next week it is expected that Lee will join in time for the freindlies with Hibs and F.C. Utrecht.

The signing of Cattermole would be a major coup for WIgan. Attracting a player of his calibre would support the assertion of players like De Ridder and Valencia that we are a club on the up

The next player out of the revolving door appears to be Marlon King. Hull City manager Phil Brown is quoted as saying that the deal is 90% complete. The sticking point is rumoured to be matching Marlon's wages which are alleged to be 25k a week.

The next deal is the proposed deal for Jmimmy Bullard from Fulham. Wigan are beelieved to have asked permission to talk to Jimmy. No word is forthcoming as to whether Fulham will acceed to our request and Latics are expected to have to pay up to 6 million to secure his services.

Whilst nothing is ever certain until the deal is done (witness the protracted Zaki transfer) what it does show is that Steve Bruce is aiming high.

Roll on tomorrow!

He always has aimed high, but as a manager has never got there.
