Austria impresses Bruce

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce says he is delighted with the training facilities that the club used during their recent visit to Austria on a 10 day training camp.

Bruce told the clubs official website:

"I have been delighted with this tour and its all been perfect"

"The country is beautiful, the hotel was excellent, the food was perfect and the training facilities second to none, we might go back next year"

'We have had an excellent couple of weeks out here and Austria has been tremendous"

On the football side Latics played three games with a win, a draw and a defeat, they beat local side FC St Veit 3-0, lost to Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 and finished with a 2-2 against Hannover 96.

The squad flew back to the UK on Saturday and now face four friendlies as they prepare for the new season, Barnsley 29th July, Sheffield Wednesday 2nd August, Hibs 5th August and FC Utrecht of Holland 10th August, all these games will be away from home.
