Cattermole undergoes Wigan medical

Middlesbrough midfield player Lee Cattermole is undergoing a medical at the JJB today has he finalises his dream move to Wigan Athletic

The Stockton-on-Tees born England Under 21 international is set to pen a three year deal and become Steve Bruces 4th signing this summer following the capture of Daniel De Ridder and Olivier Kapo from Birmingham and Amr Zaki from Zamalek.

Cattermole will form part of a formidable midfield at the Latics that includes Wilson Palacios and Antonio Valencia, with De Ridder, Kapo, Brown, Koumas, Cotterill, Kilbane and Taylor all capable of doing more than just a job in the middle there is plenty of competition and Latics look strong in this area

If as expected Cattermole does complete his move today he could well make his debut at Championship side Barnsley tomorrow
