Wigan Athletic Still Waiting on Zamalek

The Egypt Daily News is reporting that Zamalek have still not released the International Transfer Licence for striker Amr Zaki who completed a 12 month loan to the Premier League club last week

Latics have paid in full the fee for the loan period and are bemused by the hold up as Zaki cannot play until the transfer receives international clearence.

Zaki`s agent Nader Shawki said about the situation:

'Wigan officials are astonished that Zamalek have not sent the ITC until now, especially that the 1.2 million English pounts transfer fee was paid in full last week'

'I was asked about it several times and unfortunately I couldn`t find the answer.
'They told me that this is something that happened for the first time in the history of the club. I have also spoken to manager Steve Bruce and he insists that Zaki will not play in friendlies unless he is officially registered.'

Amr Zaki had to sit out the Latics 6-0 thrashing of Barnsley last night

I'm not surprised this deal has been a farce from the very beginning and its extremely sad for what seems to be a very talented player. Surley if we have paid then this is an issue for FIFA
