Jimmy Bullard flattered by Latics interest

Former Wigan Athletic and current Fulham midfield player Jimmy Bullard said that he was flattered when he heard of the rumours surrounding a proposed bid from the Latics for his services.

The proposed bid all sounds like paper talk but even if it wasn`t former Latics favourite Bullard is more than happy at Fulham where the fans love him just like they did at the JJB.

Jimmy was unaware of any speculation until one of his many friends contacted him whilst he was on tour with Fulham, Jimmy said:

"I got a call from a mate when I was on our tour of Korea saying there was something in the papers about me coming back to Wigan, but I know nothing about it."

"But it's the first I've heard of it. Wigan is a great club and have got a great manager."

"But my gaffer hasn't said anything to me about it."

"It's nice to hear that Wigan would want me back, it shows I'm well thought of."

Jimmy is at the moment negotiating an extension on his contract with Fulham, even though he still has two years remaining on his current deal, knowing Jimmy it wouldn`t be too much of a surprise to learn he used the 'reported` interest from the Latics to help those new contract negotiations go a little more smoothly.

Jimmy continues:

"I'm in talks at the moment about a new contract. I've got two years to run on my deal and we just thought it was the right time to try and sit down and get a new one sorted."

"Hopefully it will all be sorted out soon."

Great guy, great player, would love to see him back at the JJB but just isn`t going to happen

So Wigan are great, Bruce's great, it's nice to hear we'd want him back, Fulham told him nothing, and he's not happy with his current contract. Call me delusional...........
