Bruce says 'Players Could Leave`

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has already said that he hopes to have finished shopping for players this summer and now he says that one or two of the current squad could well leave the club before the seasons start in two weeks.

Bruce recently revealed that he wants a squad of 24 players to tackle the demands of the English Premier League and at the moment there are 27 on the first team list.

Admittedly this includes Rachid Bouaouzan who has never figured for the Latics and Lewis Montrose and Thomas Kupisz, both of whom played at Barnsley on Tuesday.

There has been speculation regarding the futures at the club of David Cotterill, Ryan Taylor, Michael Brown and Marlon King in recent weeks and Kings proposed move to Hull City still appears to be in the balance.

Bruce said:

'The competition for places is great, and we need that in the Premier League."

'When it comes to possibly selling players, you can never say never, although us managers are greedy and you never really like to let anyone go."

'Sometimes you accept an offer which is good for the club and the player, but I hope not to be doing that too often.'

Taylor and Brown, in my opinion, should be kept at the club and although Cotterill is undoubtedly talented he has never realised his potential whilst at the Latics

King is a player who divides opinion, I for one like him and he can score goals, 11 in a very poor Watford side proves this

As for Bouaouzan I would give him a plane ticket back to Holland one-way and forget about him
