Steve Bruce Impresses Latics fans

The last poll on Vital Wigan asked what you thought of Latics boss Steve Bruces foray in the transfer market this summer and the vast majority of you were mighty impressed.

Having witnessed two of his recruits in action on Tuesday night I can tell you that they made a big impression on me, Lee Cattermole and Daniel De Ridder looked quality albeit against a poor Barnsley

With Olivier Kapo and Amr Zaki still to feature and the re-signing of Chris Kirkland and Paul Scharner things are starting to look bright for the Latics

Poll result: Has Steve Bruces transfer activity impressed you

Yes some good signings - 73%

A fantastic result and endorsement by the fans for the Latics boss

The new poll is asking what brings you to Vital Wigan?

Cattermole looks a really good signing

Brownie is staying. The midfield now looks ok, well-balanced with defence and attack. Good, even. The injury to Scharner immediately got SB worried, and I hope he's looking at a loan deal for cover until Edman is up and running, even if the injury is not serious. I'm still not entirely sure about the other end. Zaky is very promising, but is an unknown quantity, and may take time to adapt to the PL. Camara seems to have more potential now, but there again, it's potential. King has yet to impress. Maybe SB knows more than we do, but for me, there's more money to be spent. Big money, as required for a proven striker.

I think that we do need a loan deal for a good central defender and a proven goal scorer 'but not Andy Johnson' The signings look good but i think we need to get King off the wage bill. I just dn't think he has done enough especially at 30k a week If we get rid of King and get a proven goal scorer our team will look brilliant
