Wilson Palacios Signs New Wigan Deal

Wigan Athletic midfield magician Wilson Palacios has today signed the new improved and longer contract that the club offered him a few weeks ago.

The Honduras international, who was subject of speculation regarding a move to Manchester United told Latics official web site:

"Why would I want to leave Wigan?"

"I have enjoyed every minute since linking up with manager Steve Bruce again and I love the Latics fans"

"The climax to last season was amazing and I am proud to be playing in with Wigan in the best league in the world"

"Preseason has been fantastic and I enjoyed the Austrian tour and friendlies but cant wait for the season to begin with the West Ham game and then the home game with Chelsea"

Things are certainly looking up this preseason and the likes of Kirkland, Scharner and Palacios renewing their contracts is very important for the Latics

Exactly basketvilla. This is brilliant news and it also shows what the players think about wigan, It also sticks 2 fingers up at the big clubs and shows how far we have come. All we need now is valencia signing a new contract. Saying that he signed a 3 year 1 in Jan

'Why would I want to leave Wigan?' There hasn't actually been a bid for him from Man Utd then, just 'interest.'
