Latics old boy doing well at Wycombe

Latics old boy doing well at Wycombe

Ex-Wigan Athletic player Mango Vieira has started his new career off well at Wycombe Wanderers the striker has now scored in two successive games for his new club

Vieira joined Wycombe in June and manager Peter Taylor could not be more pleased with him, Taylor said:

'That's two in two for him now.

'I was just about to take him off when he scored.

'Magno has done well in pre-season. He's carried on working hard and he's got his reward with a couple of goals.'

Vieira joined the Latics in 2003 after being recommended to the club by Brazilian legend Jarzinio

Although Vieira didn`t manage to get a start for the Latics he became a bit of a cult hero amongst the JJB faithful, with an air of mystery about the young Brazilian he was a player that the fans wanted to succeed.

Unfortunately Vieira didn`t have a future with Latics and he was released in 2005, he drifted out of the spot light a little but now he`s back at Adams Park and apparently enjoying himself in the process.

Taylor says about the 23 year old:

'He comes to us as a winger and a striker. He's an all-out attacking player.

'Even though he's played at a different level, he's used to scoring and he's hungry. I believe he will do well.'

Always nice to hear how our former players are doing.
